Through the Generations: Ibn Arabi's Enduring Influence on the Farangi Mahalli and Khairabadi Scholars

The scholars of the Farangi Mahall and the Khairabadis held a deep reverence for al-Shaykh al-Akbar ibn Arabi. Mullā Nizāmuddīn, the namesake for the Dars-i-Nizāmī curriculum and a follower of the Chishti Sufi order, was known to teach the Fusus al-Hikam of Shaykh Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi.

This pursuit of studying al-Shaykh al-Akbar's writings permeated through generations of Farangi Mahallis, even reaching the Khairabadis. 

Allama Fazl-i-Haq Khairabadi is said to have studied the Fusus with Hz. Hafiz Muhammad Ali Khairabadi, who was a representative of Shah Sulaiman Tonswi, a leading Chishti sage of the Subcontinent and the grand Shaykh of Akbarian, Pir Mihr Ali Shah al-Golrawi.
